How I spent my weekend! With DJ Craze of course!

February 19th, 2008 | Category: Concerts, Event Coverage, Mix Revolution TV, News

Dj Craze’s Bass Sessions LA was this past weekend. all in all good times were had by all those who came. We did some good interviews which should be up soon. My favorite sets of the evening would have to be by Treasure Fingers and Klever! Klever arrived in LA at midnight and got to the venue at 12:45 and spun an insane set.

Thanks to Danny from United for inviting us out and good look on the extra lights and SUBS. That BASS was insane! Check out my home videoness above!

Christmas is coming late!!!!

February 05th, 2008 | Category: Concerts, Music, News

So I have just moved to a new pad, 1 mile from beautiful Main St. Huntington Beach, CA. Ok enough rubbing in, now onto the post. So I have no internet yet, have to wait till Thursday and I have been slacking on my posts and my reader. I came across this old post from the Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream blog. It’s the first hip-hop tour I have been excited about in a while, (Rock the Bells doesn’t count, it’s a festival).

The Letter X.

February 01st, 2008 | Category: Concerts, Music, TurntableTHIS!!!

X is unique letter. There aren’t too many words that begin with X… may be a few names, but overall how often do you get to use a word that begins with the letter X? I personally use X’s alot because I’m always X-ing and O-ing my lovies, yes I’m ultra girly like that ppssshaaa! Moving along, in the world of DJ/Turntablism/Skratch when you think of X what do you think of??? THE X-Men, X-Ecutioners and all of the amazing DJs that through the years have been apart of the crew. Some of my favorite DJs come from this crew, I’ve been lucky enough to meet, interact and even interview a few of them. As much world wide fame as these men have they’ve always remained approachable, down to earth and humble. I cannot begin to tell you how into these DJs I am, I’m on that nerd status! You know the one where you have ringtones, and caller tunes from music these DJs have made, oooh man a password of mine is even a title from one of the X-ecutioner’s albums not even a short title too a super long one hahahaa.

Like everything else in life the X-ecutioners have seen their highs, rough patches and differences through the many years, members have come and gone, but they will always remain one of the greatest crews to ever get on the turntables. A new chapter in the X-ecutioners story has started. Last year, DJs Rob Swift, Total Eclipse and Precision came together to form a new group, Ill Insanity.

Ill Insanity

L-R: Precision, Rob Swift and Total Eclipse

These three DJs have come together to form Ill Insanity, and they’re more than just three turntablists who have won battles, they’re also party rockers, crowd movers, and innovators. Ill Insanity’s first album Ground Xero is set to drop on February 12, 2008. I was able to catch their debut NYC show last fall and let me tell you it’s fun. Fun because it’s not just 3 DJs skratching and beat juggling, doing a little trick here or there, it’s three amazing DJs tearing it up. Aside from doing group routines they also do solo routines and my favorite part the party rocking definitely had the crowd moving!

Guitar Center and Rane have come together to bring to a few lucky US Cities the Ill Insanity Ground Xero Tour! The Chi is changing the Game!

January 24th, 2008 | Category: Concerts, Event Coverage, Mix Revolution TV, Music

Mano Holt Terror @ Cinespace012208

In the Major Leagues of Hip-Hop and Music itself, the City of Chicago could have been seen as League Champions. With the huge success of Mr. West’s third effort, Lupe’s excellent sophomore effort and the underground and blogs of the world constantly chatting about the vast talents coming from the Windy City. Look to 2008 to be even greater for the Chi, with a few huge events and talent that is ready to take on the world.

Last night I spent some time with three future Chicago prospects at Cinespace in LA. Look for the upcoming video of the night’s insanity brought to you courtesy of Million $$$ Mano, Hollywood Holt and Mic Terror. Mic gives up his true life’s passion. Holt discusses the mean streets and life of his Moped Gang. Then Mano gives up the secret to sustaining his lavish lifestyle and the future collabos he is brewing to change the RAP GAME!

In the meantime get a feel for some of my favorite new rappers in ‘08 by visiting their myspace pages! My fellow DJs, forget the radio crap and start spinning some artist with a true love for the art because some of these Hip-Pop rappers ego’s are too big! Hit up Mo from The Movement to get some of the guys tracks!

DJ I-DEE is on the come-up…

November 06th, 2007 | Category: Concerts, Mix Revolution TV, TurntableTHIS!!!

Greetings Everyone! I-Dee here, taking a quick second to give you a run down on whats going on in my day-to-day well being for the past couple of weeks…

Went to Taiwan for two shows on Oct. 19/20 in the cities of Taipei and Taichung. I was supposed to do these shows during my Asia Tour in August but I couldn’t make it out of the airport in Shanghai because of the nasty Typhoon that was hitting Taiwan and the Phillippines at the time. Oh well.

I left Miami on Wednesday evening, had a connecting flight in San Francisco and a direct red-eye flight from there to Taipei. Now first off, I really hate Miami International. In particular, American Airlines because they always fuck up with my luggage. Low and behold, they lost one of my bags once I arrived. I was still able to perform, however, I had to go out and buy new clothes instead of relaxing from the exhausting flight. Not to mention, the first show was in Taichung which was about a 45 minute train ride from Taipei. Luckily, the hotel was pretty baller:
