“With this mix, I wanted to do something a little different. Instead of giving you what I’d listen to before going out to party with my friends, I wanted to share my mind / body trip of traveling to play a show. I spend a lot of time alone in public places; in airports, hotels, and in cars and clubs with ever-new groups of strangers (who often by the end of the night become friends) before sharing my soul with hundreds or thousands of people. I find this to be both exhilarating and alienating. This journey starts from home to flying, to the airport in a new city, a car ride to the hotel, a little introspection, a workout, dinner, some self doubt, a shower, the necessary ego pump, and of course, the main event, the thrill of being up there, the WHY I do what I do … but also the insanity of adoration, the constant fear of failure, and ultimately, the bittersweet reality of heading back to the hotel alone after the party and the afterparty are all done … I hope you feel me. <3 reid,”  directly from Reid herself.

“Greetings folks!! Me and Klever took over North America this past April playing DC to San Fran and everywhere in between. Great times were had and there are too many people to thank for looking out for us. Gotta give a shout to Traktor for sponsoring the whole tour. We’re getting ready to get back on the road in search of new adventures. Before the madness begins, I’m going to Philly for the homie Sharp’s wedding. After that we’ll be going to Fabric for the Scratch Perverts ‘Beatdown’ album launch party, if you are in London - come down! the party’s gonna be crazy!After that we’re gonna make a pit stop in Germany and than onto meet up with the boys, Jack Beats at Beachbreak Live.

So last week the Blacked Out Atlanta headed down to El Bar to hear some solid tunes, drink some cold ass Tecate beer and rock out to DJ SMILES. While all 15 of us were jamming out, spilling beer on every patron that passed by, and genuinely loving living life. What we didn’t know was Smiles was giving us a taste of his latest mix tape White Light Syndrome, which from what we all remembered was awesome. So come Sunday when we all sobered up a bit. I made some move to get this new mixtape up and posted on Mix Revolution so that all can enjoy in the greatness that is the “White Light Syndrome”.

Ok we have featured Nick Catchdub mixes in the past and if you search the web you will find so many of his sonic adventures. This latest takes the cake and when I found it I knew I had to share it with all you Old Heads or Kids of the 90s. You know what I am talking about, the real 90210, My So Called Life, 120 Minutes, Singles, Mallrats, Matt Pinfield, Clerks types! Ha! This past Monday I had the opportunity to witness 2 Many DJs aka some of the guys from Soulwax courtesy of Scion and iheartcomix. I will say that this was one fo the most amazing gigs I have been to in years. Some DJs play what the people want to hear. Some DJs think they have to be avante and hip playing only the latest tracks and what they think is cool. Then there are those rare few who can do both all while playing the emotions of the crowd. This is what we saw. I posted some videos from my Canon SD750 Elph, so they aren’t the best but enjoy.

In 2 weeks, Soulwax will be releasing their much antcipated Documentary, Part of the Weekend Never Dies, where one camera followed them around for 120 days straight of non-stop performances and DJ gigs. From what I have seen so far, this will be a must see for all DJs and Music Artists. A glimpse into what it really takes to make it big across the world!
