DAVE DRESDEN on VONNYC radio show

Over the years we have heard solid classics and remixes such as “As a Rush Comes,” “Tracking Treasures Down,” and “Till There Was You” from the duo Gabriel and Dresden. Well, now the duo has split with Josh and Dave choosing to go their own way. Are we sad? The answer is yes! Do we think this might lead to some amazing new tracks from both Josh and Dave? Yes. For those of you who’ve followed Dave’s career, you already know that he was one of the first DJs documented by DJ TIMES to never have had played vinyl, and to only have ever played CD (that article was pre abelton of course). Or, maybe you knew that at one point Dave was helping the renowned Pete Tong with selecting tracks for his weekly radio show on the BBC. More recently, Dave has been an underground hero in our books. Over the last year, it was almost guaranteed that you could log into myspace.com/davedresden and get one of his latest mashups or a DJ set from an amazing night with G&D. The point being that it often seemed like Dave was less concerned with making money off his tracks, and more concerned with sharing his music with anyone who wanted to listen. For this we thank you and we would like to share your latest mix from paul van dyk’s radio show as well as this completely crazy remix of deadmau5’s hit “Not Exactly.”

New Music Monday: NOVA Edition

I have music for the masses this week. For all 2 of you that read this! Hi Aaron and Reed! Ha! So enough of the small talk and let’s give you the free music and mixes that will inspire your week.

Second, last week MixRev favorite KLEVER, we jock the dude too much but it’s because of his greatness, posted a new Mix in honor of a new ATL club night TOPLESS! KLEV always kills it so go grab the mix now and jump on your bed and start a pillow fight with your girls!
Last, SRC Records, home to some of the coolest Record people ever, has signed ASHER ROTH, another great white hope for Hip-Hop. Now I am not going to lie, I haven’t heard too many of this kids tunes but I like it and some blogs I trust have been buzzing about it. So due to the fact I love Steve and the rest of his crew, I know this Suburban Rap could be the next Hype to bring some hopeful change to the boring Mainstream game! The best part is yet to come, DJ Drama and Cannon have just released a mixtape titled “ASHER ROTH: The Greenhouse Effect.†Not sure which green they are talking about but it’s free so give a spin and take my advice. Don’t sleep on this!
As for now this will be all my free albums and mixes for the week. But I will have another post later with my Tuesday picks to get and some other new LEAKS floating around the net! Check it yo! I am out! Look out for Reed’s dope post above to come!
Viva el NOVA!

My tracks are getting radio support from Mark Ronson and BBC Radio 1 DJs Kissy Sell Out and Annie Mac and it’s damn exciting. My debut EP’s still in the works, and expect much more East Coast dj slots from me once this Philly move happens (I love you Bloomingon but I must set you free).
