Tricks of the Trade…

January 31st, 2008 | Category: Mix Revolution TV

Most of the time this actually works. If this doesn’t, try bringing a box of vinyl of bull*$# records and let them know you work for a record label. I’ve done that plenty of times.

The Chi is changing the Game!

January 24th, 2008 | Category: Concerts, Event Coverage, Mix Revolution TV, Music

Mano Holt Terror @ Cinespace012208

In the Major Leagues of Hip-Hop and Music itself, the City of Chicago could have been seen as League Champions. With the huge success of Mr. West’s third effort, Lupe’s excellent sophomore effort and the underground and blogs of the world constantly chatting about the vast talents coming from the Windy City. Look to 2008 to be even greater for the Chi, with a few huge events and talent that is ready to take on the world.

Last night I spent some time with three future Chicago prospects at Cinespace in LA. Look for the upcoming video of the night’s insanity brought to you courtesy of Million $$$ Mano, Hollywood Holt and Mic Terror. Mic gives up his true life’s passion. Holt discusses the mean streets and life of his Moped Gang. Then Mano gives up the secret to sustaining his lavish lifestyle and the future collabos he is brewing to change the RAP GAME!

In the meantime get a feel for some of my favorite new rappers in ‘08 by visiting their myspace pages! My fellow DJs, forget the radio crap and start spinning some artist with a true love for the art because some of these Hip-Pop rappers ego’s are too big! Hit up Mo from The Movement to get some of the guys tracks!

On to another issue. We spent the weekend at NAMM. Look out for Aaron’s overview and some awesome video spots!

And tomorrow will be a day spent with Hollywood Holt, Mano and Mic Terror! Look out for the info and vids! Have fun this week and keep on mixing!

Justice

So I have been meaning to post all this up since Wednesday but due to the fact that my landlord hates me and I had to go to Orlando this weekend, I didn’thave them time. But if you have come out from underneath your rock lately, then you would know that MySpace has proven it is still cool, even if it is owned by an Ol’ Fart now, by making Justice the headliner of it’s latest MySpace Music Tour. It’s time to come back and pledge my alegence to them again, sorry Facebook.

The tour will include on various dates a few of my personal favorties, NYC based Canuck’s CHROMEO, Sarah’s favorite DIPLO, and the and fellow Ed Bangers Busy P, Medhi and Fancy.

If you haven’t experience a Justice live set, not a DJ set, then it is a must do for your Bucket List. So come out and look for the tall white MixRev poser in the audience jumping like a gitty school girl. But I will pump my fist to prove I am still a man! HA! On a side note. Supposedly the once genious and now moronic people at Fabric, London’s Cool Dance Mega Club, rejected a recent Justice mix for it’s FabricLive series. Well they decided to not let the fine gem go to waste and mailed it out to their friends as a Christmas gift. Since we are not cool enough to be part of that list, URB, posted it on their latest podcast. So head over to URB.com to download it and burn a whole in your bed from all that fancy footwork. Just head to the link below:
